April Wisdom of the Earth Promotion: April Showers Bring Spring Savings

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

April is a month of transition—a time of soft rain, waking earth, and the quiet signal that it is time to refresh our routines. Our April Showers…Bring Spring Savings promotion is designed to support your body and spirit as the world turns green again and aid in the shifting needs of a body more engaged in outdoor activities, both work and play.  As we transition into the vibrant energy of spring, we are highlighting a special selection of Wisdom of the Earth essences chosen with this beautiful Season in mind.

Whether you are waking up muscles that aren’t quite used to the sudden return of hiking and biking, or navigating the frustration of a summer cold—which always seems to be the toughest to shake—these plant allies offer support and healing. From naturally repelling insects and soothing itchy bites to cooling the body during the first true heat wave, this collection is designed to keep you resilient in the face of Spring’s usual challenges.

In this spirit, we invite you to explore our April Showers… Bring Spring Savings promotion. It’s the perfect time to stock your natural medicine cabinet with the deep, earthy grounding of Patchouli, the respiratory strength of Black Pine, or the skin-regenerating magic of Foraha (also known as Tamanu Oil).

Here are the details and intentions behind this month’s choices…priced to enable you to try something new that calls to you, or stock up on one of your “go to” essences…perhaps with greater insight into how it can support your quality of life.

Once again, here is the “administrative” side of participating in our monthly Promotion. Please read these instructions, even if you have participated before, as some ordering  aspects may have changed.

1.  The 40% off promotional offer on these select items runs Friday,  April 17th, starting at 12:01 am, and ends Sunday,  April 19th at midnight, Mountain Standard Time.  Insurance is included in the shipping cost, which covers leakage, damage or loss.

2.  If you normally order through your Wisdom of the Earth teacher or distributor, please do so for this promotion.  You will receive the same 40% discount you would receive ordering directly from us, and doing so honors the ongoing relationship you have with our representative. They are also able to advise if you have questions regarding whether something would be helpful for you, and how to apply it most effectively for the use you have in mind, etc.

3.  We have programmed the website to reflect the 40% off prices for these ten items; for reference, the regular price is shown in the product descriptions below.  When you place an order for any of these ten products, the discounted price will be applied automatically.  No coupons are necessary.

4.  The name of each product in the descriptions below is a link to the product on our website’s on-line store, if you want to go directly to it.  Or, you can just make a list of the ones you are interested in as you read through the descriptions, and use the search function on the website to take you to them when you are ready to order.  The picture of each plant, with the name of the product in the center that accompanies the description, is also a “link”, and if you click on the name it will take you to that product’s location in the e-store as well.

5.  The promotional pricing cannot be combined with any other discount you may qualify for on these ten items (for example, our 10% discount for locals), however if you wish to include other regularly priced items in your order,  just enter your regular discount code, and it will be applied to the other, non-promotional products.

6.  Please remember, these promotions result in lots of orders in a short amount of time, so we appreciate your patience, as it may take considerably longer than usual to process and ship promotional orders.  If you have not received notice by email that your order has shipped by Friday,  May 1,  please contact us so we can research the status of your order.

7.  Important!  If you experience any problems placing your order during the promotion, let me know via the website Contact Us form, or email me at [email protected] explaining the issue.  If we can’t get back to you until after the promotion, we will still honor the promotional pricing if you have contacted us during the promotional period.

There may be some products in the Promotion you have never heard of…this is a great opportunity to try something you have not used before.  As always, we will highlight the healing properties of each product; for your broader information, cultural and spiritual aspects of these beautiful offerings will be noted, as well.

Meet the products in this promotion!

Balsam, Copaiba (Copal)  Copaifera officinalis
Just as the spring rains wash away the remnants of winter, Copaiba acts as a gentle internal rinse, clearing the “congestion” of the mind and body.

Medicinal Benefits: A potent anti-inflammatory and antiseptic; excels at opening respiratory passages and loosening mucus. Speeds wound healing and reduces the risk of infection. Aids in easing muscle, joint and nerve pain when applied topically.

Emotional Benefits: Helps to soften emotional tension, quiets a restless mind and strengthens intuition. Creates a sense of safety and containment – useful for sensitive or empathic individuals.

Historical Significance: Indigenous tribes have used it for centuries to treat wounds and infections.   Also used for clearing spaces of stagnant or negative energy.

Retail Price:  15 ml $24; 120 ml $168

Citronella “Mana Grass” (Organic N.C.)   Cymbopogon nardus
Damp spring weather often brings unwanted “guests” in the form of gnats and other insects; Citronella acts as your natural shield, keeping your space as fresh as the air after a storm.

Medicinal Benefits:  Beyond its role as a bug repellent, Citronella is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory, aiding in reducing arthritic swelling and muscle discomfort. Often used as digestive stimulant to ease irregular digestion.  Apply sparingly on the abdomen (as it is a little skin-sensitive for some people), or over a light layer of another digestive oil like Cardamom or Tarragon.

Emotional Benefits: A bold energy-cleanser that shifts heavy emotional states and creates a protective space. Supports transitions, resets, and “opening the windows” energetically.  When diffused it is excellent at clearing a room or space after conflict, illness or emotional intensity.

Historical Significance: Used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine for digestion; gained global fame in the 19th century as a malaria defense.

Retail Price:  15 ml $24; 120 ml $168

Cornmint   Mentha arvensis
Like a sudden, cool downpour on a humid afternoon, Cornmint provides an instant splash of relief for tired/aching muscles.  Introduced to us by our wonderful Nepalese farmer, many of our customers often remark that they don’t know how they did without it before!

Medicinal Benefits: Highly analgesic and antispasmodic; exceptional for joint pain, muscle stiffness, and recovery. High menthol content provides a strong cooling sensation that helps to relieve headaches and nerve discomfort.

Emotional Benefits: Refreshes the mind and elevates consciousness to overcome lethargy; facilitates clear communication. Improves mental clarity and concentration. Ideal for cleansing rituals or to bring calm after emotionally draining interactions.

Historical Significance: Documented in Chinese medicine since the 17th century to clear “pathogenic wind” and heat from the body.

Retail Price:  15 ml $30; 120 ml $210

Patchouli Pogostemon cablin
This isn’t your grandma’s Patchouli! Our essence captures the raw, clean vibration of sun-warmed soil after a spring rain! The farmer has distilled flowers and leaves to create a scent profile that our customers describe as earthy, subtle and light—a grounding essence that heals without clouding the room.

Medicinal Benefits: A great oil for skin regeneration. It helps fade scars, calms eczema, and its antifungal properties make it a top choice for treating athlete’s foot or minor irritations. When applied topically, it can help reduce swelling and ease joint pain.  As a metabolic tonic, it is known for strengthening the ability of the liver and kidneys to filter out environmental toxins such as heavy metals.

Emotional Benefits: Deeply grounding; patchouli is used to pull overactive energy down from the head and back into the body. Wonderful for when you feel anxious or scattered. Encourages you to feel at peace with your physical self, promoting body positivity and confidence.

Historical Significance: Originating in South East Asia, traders used its leaves to protect silk textiles, making the scent a symbol of Victorian luxury.

Retail Price:  15 ml $34; 120 ml $238

Pine, Black (Wild) Pinus nigra
Imagine the resilient Black Pine standing tall through a spring deluge—this essence provides that same steady strength when life feels stormy.

Medicinal Benefits: One of the most potent oils for the lungs, Black Pine helps clear stuck mucus, opens the respiratory tract, and supports deeper, fuller breathing. It is often used for congestion, bronchitis, and sinus pressure. Black Pine stimulates the circulatory system and possesses strong anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent choice for relieving sore muscles, joint discomfort, and stiffness. Known for supporting depleted adrenals, and  helping the body recover from chronic stress and nervous exhaustion.

Emotional Benefits: Black Pine carries an energetic quality of unwavering endurance. It is used to help rebuild inner strength and fortify those who feel they are “carrying the weight of the world”. Often used for grief, Black Pine, helps clear emotional heaviness and constriction in the chest, allowing for a return to presence and offering a deep sense of rootedness.  These properties make it highly effective for individuals who feel scattered, overwhelmed, or spiritually disconnected.

Historical Significance: Ancient Taoist priests drank pine needle tea for longevity; Scandinavian cultures used it as a symbol of resilience.

Retail Price: 15 ml $29; 120 ml $203

Ravinstara  Cinnamomum camphora
When the dampness of April brings the sniffles, Ravintsara is the “good leaf” that protects your internal climate from the change in weather.

Medicinal Benefits: A powerful anti-viral; frequently used to combat the flu, common cold, and shingles. It works by boosting white blood cell activity and strengthening overall immune defenses. High in 1,8-cineole, it acts as a potent decongestant and expectorant; making it a go-to for bronchitis and sinusitis.

One of my early teachers, Dr. Malte Hozzel, says in his book, Essays on Holistic Aromatherapy (now available at Wisdom of the Earth), that “Ravintsara ranks among what we may call the most popular ‘panacea’ (cure-all) oils in Aromatherapy.”

Emotional Benefits: Ravinstara is used to clear spaces of negativity, purifying the air and the spirit. In times of profound sadness, it is used to help express and then release the heavy weight of grief, particularly after the loss of a loved one or a relationship.

Historical Significance: Native to Madagascar, “Ravintsara means “good” or “beautiful” leaf in Malagasy and was used by local healers to address a wide range of physical and emotional problems.

Retail Price:  15 ml $37; 120 ml $259

Rosemary (Hi-Camphor) Rosmarinus officinalis ct. camphor
Clear away the “brain fog” of a long, demanding day with the sharp, invigorating wake-up call that only High Camphor Rosemary can provide.

Medicinal Benefits: Rosemary has a warming effect that promotes blood flow, making it effective for varicose veins and cellulite. Widely used in massage to relieve muscle cramps, aches, and stiff joints.

Emotional Benefits: Dispels mental fatigue and sharpens concentration and memory. It is a popular choice for students or professionals needing to maintain mental performance during long study sessions or projects. Strengthens the solar plexus chakra, boosting self-esteem, self-confidence and providing the energy for moving forward.

Historical Significance: Ancient Greeks wore rosemary garlands to aid memory;  Rosemary, along with Sage and Clove, were key ingredients for protection against the Black Plague, which was one of the most devastating and famous pandemics in history (14th -15th Century).

*Due to its high camphor content, Rosemary (Hi-Camphor) should be used sparingly and with care by those with epilepsy, seizure disorders or hypertension. Generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, nor for children under age 6. In these situations, we would recommend using our Rosemary verbenone or Rosemary cineole.

Retail Price:  15 ml $28; 120 ml $196

Tangerine Citrus reticulata
Tangerine is the burst of sunshine that breaks through the April clouds, lifting your spirits and brightening the gloomiest afternoon.

Medicinal Benefits: Supports digestion and helps soothe an upset stomach, reduce bloating, and alleviate feelings of queasiness. Rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C, it supports a healthy immune system. Antiseptic and antifungal properties make it effective for managing acne and oily skin. It also supports collagen production to help minimize the appearance of scars and stretch marks.  Since it is a citrus, please do a test patch before applying undiluted to the skin, or apply it over a very thin layer of a nut/seed oil like Foraha (see description below).

Emotional Benefits: Nurtures the “Inner Child,” restoring a sense of joy and playfulness. Helps to soothe “frayed nerves” and reduces nervous tension, making it ideal for creating a peaceful, calm atmosphere during high-pressure moments. Tangerine also softens feelings of stress, frustration or anger in children, especially if they are over-stimulated in group situations.  Apply to the soles of the feet (great with Fir, Balsam, or the Pine, Black in this promotion).

Historical Significance: Named after the port of Tangier; its use in Traditional Chinese Medicine dates back thousands of years to the earliest medical texts. Traditionally used as an “emotional cleanser” in Chinese culture, it is believed to attract positive energy, abundance, and prosperity, while repelling negative influences.

*Like most citrus oils, tangerine can be photosensitive. Wait at least 12 hours after application before prolonged sun or UV light exposure or apply to the soles of the feet to avoid skin irritation.

Retail Price:  15 ml $24; 120 ml $168

Foraha (Tamanu) Nut Oil  Calophyllum inophyllum
Just as rain nourishes the soil, Foraha deeply feeds your skin, repairing the damage of the past and preparing you for the summer sun.

Medicinal Benefits: An extraordinary skin regenerator. Highly  effective for accelerating the healing of wounds, minor burns, and diminishing the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Foraha exhibits strong antibacterial and antifungal activity, making it a powerful remedy for acne, athlete’s foot, and shingles or herpes sores. Due to its analgesic and circulatory-stimulating properties, Foraha is traditionally used in massages to relieve joint pain, rheumatism, and sciatica.

Emotional Benefits: Much like the tree that thrives in harsh seaside conditions, the oil symbolizes strength and endurance. It is often applied to the soles of the feet to ground scattered energy and reconnect with one’s sense of purpose. Helps us break free from limiting beliefs and fosters a sense of inner peace and balance.

Historical Significance: Known as “Green Gold,” the trees were revered as sacred guardians in Polynesia and planted near temples.

Retail Price: 15ml $27; 120 ml $189; 500 ml $737

Yarrow, Blue Hydrolat  Achillea millefolium
This gentle mist is the ultimate “April Shower” for your skin and soul—a soothing rain that heals as it hydrates.

Medicinal Benefits: A gentle antiviral and antibacterial mist excellent for calming irritated skin and soothing acne “flare-ups”.

Emotional Benefits: The “herb for empaths,” it helps strengthen emotional boundaries and shields against negative energy.  A “non-invasive”/subtle spray for waiting areas and sick rooms.

Historical Significance: Named after the Greek hero Achilles, who used the plant to treat his soldiers’ wounds on the battlefield.

Retail price:  120 ml $37; 500ml $141; 1000ml $254
