August Wisdom of the Earth Promotion: Birds of a Feather

At Wisdom of the Earth, we know that “birds of a feather… flock together!” We all have our favorite pairings for particular symptoms or situations.  That is how we put together this month’s Promotion.  

When we layer these essences, we bring together plant parts, chemistries and energies that  create a unified field of healing energy. 3.  We have programmed the website to reflect the 40% off prices for these ten items; for reference, the regular price is shown in the product descriptions below.  When you place an order for any of these ten products, the discounted price will be applied automatically.  No coupons are necessary.

4.  Ordering:  The easiest way to order sale items is to go to the Promotion Page on our website, which will show on the menu bar and be active only during the weekend of the promotion.  All of the promotion products will be on that page, for your convenience.  To order regularly priced items, use the search bar on the Home Page to link to the product in the E-store.

5.  The promotional pricing cannot be combined with any other discount you may qualify for on these ten items (for example, our 10% discount for locals), however if you wish to include other regularly priced items in your order,  just enter your regular discount code, and it will be applied to the other, non-promotional products.

A story from Audre:  If you have studied the physical aspects of astrology, you may know that Leos (of which I am one!) often have physical/health vulnerabilities in the lower back and the heart.  I can attest to that!  I learned this information in the wonderful book The Only Astrology Book You Will Ever Need by Joanna Martine Wolfolk.

For that reason, I am rarely without Cardamom Seed and Ylang Ylang.  One day, I was getting a facial from a student of mine and she said…”uh oh….I may have to cut this short!  I am getting heart palpitations, and I should probably go to the Emergency Room”.  I said…get my purse, and let’s see if we can take care of that!

I dug out my Ylang Ylang and Cardamom Seed, and she put 5 or so drops of each over her heart.  Within seconds, the rhythms of her heart came into balance.  Interestingly, her late father was a cardiologist, and she turned to me and said,  “I cannot believe this happened!  My father would turn over in his grave if he saw this!!”  Oh, the power of the Plant Kingdom…and the beautiful synergy of Cardamom Seed (Green) and Ylang Ylang!

A story from Audre: Years ago, when Barry was my business partner, we decided to go berry picking at one of those “pick your own” family farms.  It was hot and sunny, and we were on our way to a party, but we decided to stop and pick some berries.  I had on shorts, and by the time we were done, the skin on my legs and thighs was a patchwork of scratches that were already starting to redden and swell.  I was thinking how in the world I could go to the party looking like that, and I remembered I had Balsam Gurjun in the car.  I put 10 or so drops on each leg and rubbed it in.  

By the time we got to the party, you could hardly see where the swollen, red scratches had been!  It was truly amazing and I never forgot how effective it was in taking the sting (pain) and swelling out of those scratches.  It also works amazingly well with bug bites.

Where to Apply: In both of these examples, you will want to put a few drops of the preventative oil (Eucalyptus, Lemon) on all of the exposed parts of your body…arms, legs, shoulders, etc.  For the treatment of bites or scratches, you would apply several drops of the Balsam gurjun (enough to cover the area) and smooth it in gently.

Birch, Sweet (Wild) Betula lenta

Plant Part: Bark

Medicinal Benefits: Delivers powerful pain relief to deep muscle aches, spasms, and cramping. A Story from Cynthia: Birch is a remarkable healer, and I have come to think of her as an essence that helps loosen and release what has become stuck, not only in the physical body, but within the emotional body as well. Years ago, a friend accidentally spilled nail polish on the floor. I suggested she try Birch on the stain, and to our amazement, the polish lifted up and away. I have never forgotten that image. And as far as Mugwort is concerned…let me tell you a bit about my mother.  She is 94 years old, and she loves her Mugwort.  Mugwort carries her deeply into the dreamtime, where her dreams become vivid, palpable, and beautifully remembered. Recently, she has been experiencing discomfort in her lower spine, and we began using Mugwort and Birch together as part of her nighttime ritual.
