Welcome!! Our theme this month is The Hues of Healing. There are many levels of meaning to this theme and they will be explored throughout the product descriptions. But you will see that the primary emphasis of this promotion is to bring attention to the healing properties of color. Because high-quality essential oils and hydrolats are usually bottled in amber (brown) or cobalt (blue) glass bottles to protect their quality, rarely, unless you are lucky like us, and hand-pour oils into smaller bottles, are you able to see the exquisite colors of many of the oils. Most are clear or very pale yellow, but some are navy blue, brilliant orange, bold yellow, deep green, etc.
Sometimes, that color can indicate medicinal properties (for example, deep blue is calming, a property of chamazulene, which affects the color and is a prominent chemotype in blue oils like Blue Chamomile or Blue Tansy). Other times, you may be seeking a particular color of an oil to contribute not only therapeutic benefits to a natural product like soap or candles, but also to provide a beautiful hue to that product.
The other aspect of color is often reflected in the “common” or “colloquial” name of an oil. Some examples in this month’s promotion include Purple Sage hydrolat and Black Pine essential oil. In that case, the color is a distinctive aspect of the physical plant, not its essential oil.
For those who wish to balance or enliven their chakra system (the body’s energy centers, each of which has a color and physical, emotional and spiritual aspects associated with it), the color of the oil or the plant itself may be of interest. Where this is relevant to an oil or hydrolat in our August promotion, I will include that aspect in the description below.

Hues of Healing
The Hues of Healing – Hue is more than just color…it suggests tone, mood and subtle variation. Each hue can invoke a feeling — for example, blue for calm, warm orange for vitality, soft green for renewal. And, as in the concept of chakras, for example, the heart energy center is associated with the colors green/pink; the solar plexus, yellow; and the root chakra, red.
When the hue is embodied in the color of the oil or the color of the plant, it carries visual and symbolic weight. It becomes part of the healing narrative. And finally, hue implies nuance. Healing isn’t binary…it is a spectrum. This perspective acknowledges the gentle gradations, the gradual process, of physical, emotional and/or energetic transformation.
The following products are being offered in this promotion: Balsam Copaiba (Copal), Eucalyptus (Blue Gum), Fir Noble, Leonardo’s Lavander, Palo Santo, Pine Black, Tangerine, Purple Sage Hydrolat, Foraha (Tamanu) Oil, & Grape Seed Oil.
Following is a brief overview of the medicinal, cultural/historical/spiritual, and color-related aspects of these beautiful offerings.
Balsam Copaiba (Copal) (Copifera officinalis)
Healing Properties
Copaiba is celebrated for its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, making it a powerful ally for joint pain, muscle tension, and skin conditions. Rich in β-caryophyllene—a sesquiterpene known for its interaction with the endocannabinoid system—it offers calming support for both body and mind, easing anxiety and promoting emotional resilience.(https://defeatingpain.wordpress.com/2014/03/18/copaiba-the-lesser-known-balsam/)
Cultural & Historical Significance
Harvested from the trunks of towering Amazonian trees, copaiba resin has been used for centuries by indigenous peoples of South America for wound healing, respiratory support, and spiritual protection. In some regions, it’s referred to as copal, a term also used for sacred resins burned in ceremonial rites across Mesoamerica. This dual identity reflects its bridging of physical and spiritual realms.
Hue of Healing
Unlike the golden glow of many resins, the copaiba resin used to produce this oil carries soft greyish tones, evoking the quiet strength of stone and smoke. This muted hue resonates with the root chakra, offering grounding, stability, and a sense of protection. Grey, often overlooked in color therapy, symbolizes neutrality, wisdom, and compromise. Grey is solid and stable, creating a sense of calm and composure…qualities that Balsam Copaiba gently embodies.
Retail price: 15 ml $24; 120 ml $168
Eucalyptus (Blue Gum) (Eucalyptus globulus)
Healing Properties
Eucalyptus globulus is a gentle, but powerful ally for the respiratory system. It is effective for clearing congestion, easing coughs, and promoting deep, open breathing. It also offers anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory benefits, making it a staple in immune-boosting therapy and a key component of an oil protocol applied for muscular aches.
Cultural & Historical Significance
Native to Australia, eucalyptus has long been revered by Aboriginal communities for its healing properties. The leaves were traditionally crushed and inhaled to treat fevers and respiratory ailments. As the tree spread globally, it became a symbol of purification and renewal—used in steam baths, healing rituals, and even as a protective boundary in folk medicine.
Hue of Healing
The silvery-blue leaves of the blue gum tree shimmer with a cool, ethereal tone that mirrors the oil’s clarifying nature. This hue aligns with the throat chakra, supporting clear communication, breath, and truth. Chemically, the pale, almost colorless oil, is rich in cineole, which contributes to its sharp, penetrating aroma and respiratory efficacy. In color therapy, blue evokes calm, clarity, and spaciousness—qualities that eucalyptus delivers with every breath.
Retail Price: 15 ml $23; 120 ml $161

It’s often used to ease congestion, soothe sore muscles, and calm emotional tension. Its crisp, woodsy aroma promotes clarity and emotional steadiness, making it a favorite for meditative or restorative therapies.
Cultural & Historical Significance
Native to the Pacific Northwest, Noble Fir has long been associated with strength, endurance, and winter rituals. In folk traditions, fir trees were seen as protectors—evergreen sentinels that held space for renewal and resilience. Their resinous scent has been used in purification rites and seasonal celebrations, evoking the stillness and wisdom of high mountain forests. We are grateful to have this exquisite oil, as it is not widely produced, and is only available through artisan distillers.
Hue of Healing

These properties make this essential oil excellent for meditation, allowing the mind to be calm, and the wisdom of silence to emerge, supporting you in manifesting your purpose.

Leonardo’s Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
Healing Properties
This Bulgarian lavender offers profound calming and restorative effects. It soothes anxiety, supports restful sleep, and gently eases muscular tension and skin irritation. It is also excellent for healing burns and bruises (and not just the physical kind). Bulgaria’s soil and climate produce an oil respected for its highly therapeutic properties, making it a trusted companion for emotional healing and physical renewal.
Cultural & Historical Significance
Lavender has long been a symbol of peace, purity, and devotion. In ancient Mediterranean cultures, it was used to anoint, to heal, and to sanctify. This particular distillation, sourced from a wonderful farmer in Bulgaria, carries not only the wisdom of the land but the warmth of human connection. Let me briefly tell you the story.
We named this oil Leonardo’s Lavender, because it was the cherished favorite of my late husband, Leonardo. I shared with the farmer that we had done so, because Leonardo had loved it so much. Later, he told me that he had been touched deeply by our doing so, and shared the information with his office staff. According to him, “there was not a dry eye in the house”, and he wanted me to know that they were greatly honored. So this beautiful Lavender also embodies love, memories, and the quiet strength of Leonardo’s presence. As my sister, Gloria, described him “He was one of a kind, the best kind”.
Hue of Healing
The rich, violet-colored blossoms of Bulgarian lavender mirror its emotional resonance—linked to the crown chakra, they invite spiritual clarity, serenity, and connection to higher wisdom. The oil itself is pale, almost translucent, yet its aroma is exquisitely full—an echo of the subtle yet profound. Violet, in color therapy, represents transformation, reverence, and the sacred. Leonardo’s Lavender is not just an oil—it’s a vessel of remembrance and grace.

Its color and scent speak to its unrefined potency—this is not a neutral carrier oil, but a powerfully therapeutic one.
