Yin Yoga Immersion ~ Spring Wellness & The Wood Element with Rachel Jackson LMT, CYI
Class Level:
Time:
2-4PM
DESCRIPTION:
Rachel specializes in a style of teaching called Yin Meridian Meditation. In this class, you can expect to hold postures for longer periods of time in meditative stillness and deep relaxation. The healing effects of this practice take place deep within the connective tissues, the joints, the energy channels, and the subconscious and emotional body for newfound freedoms in body and mind. This practice will focus on softening deep-seated tension and tending to the wood element within. The liver and the gallbladder are the organs associated with this element, and they are concerned with the smooth, harmonious flow in body and mind. This element supports activated growth with a slow and steady pace. To honor the season and tend to this element within, we will explore the inner work or spring cleaning through meditative/yin practices and discover how to cultivate sustainable growth and transformation with the stability of our wood element. This practice invites the body to release patterns of pain or disharmony through stillness, breath, and awareness – allowing our spirit to rise and expand gently with the support of our practice and attention. Aromatherapy will be added to the practice to enhance this internal process and experience. Class will close with a Yoga Nidra and a short neck/scalp massage while in Savasana. Seasonal tea will be served after class as a traditional offering.
