Walking Capistrano Beach and drinking in the beauty of the ocean, romping in the hills with her dogs, live music & dancing, or coordinating the Backstage Healing Sanctuary at Bhakti & Shakti Fest are some of her favorite pastimes. Karen can be reached at, phone 949-278-2669,

Teacher ~ Shawna Schenk ~The flowers, plants and trees, they speak a language, a universal language, and if you listen closely, you can hear it. Shawna Schenk is here to listen and help others do the same. Shawna is a New Jersey born, San Diego Based, holistic healer: a talker and listener of plants, energy, stones, and the heart. She is the founder and creator of Yoga With Shawna and San Diego Yoga Festival is an internationally recognized yoga teacher, Reiki master, author, and spiritual activist leading classes, workshops, teacher trainings, retreats, and festivals throughout the world. She is certified in various types of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa, SUP Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ayurveda, Naam Yoga, and Shakti Naam Yoga and has countless other degrees and certifications in various schools of healing in aromatherapy/plant medicine, energy medicine, shamanism, and sound therapy. She has created 7 different certification programs in energy medicine and yoga teacher training. The plants are with her every step of the way and she is beyond honored to be able to share their teachings with anyone who wants to listen.

With certifying over 1000 people in various modules of holistic healing, Shawna’s plant medicine course focuses on LISTENING deeply to the plant. We will meditate, write, and move with the plant as our soul and the medicine connect. The course focuses on seeing the unseen and seeing all creature as a valuable member of Earth with all something to give.

Like all of Shawna’s courses, the focus is on YOU first, for how can you help others if you do not have a regular and sustainable self healing practice? The course asks you to log within and use these teachings for your own health to liberate from a place of high love. From there, only we will be able to serve. Because Shawna believes it is our birth duty to peacefully serve one another the course will prepare you to do that. After the course Plant Internship experiences at the studio along with assisting in plant medicine classes will help support and aid your continuing education.

Shawna is also the author of “Talking to Plants, Trees and Flowers” and has a free podcast on Spotify on Plant Medicine.  She looks forward to spending sacred time together as we connect as one.

MD ~ Sheel Seidler ~ Sheel has advanced training in Kundalini (500+ hr) and Hatha Yoga (200 hr), and Breathwork, and is fascinated with how to apply ancient yoga teachings to today’s lifestyle, particularly to the paths of recovery and motherhood.  She brings the complementary modality of plant essences into her classes and works with the highest vibrational plant essences available—from Wisdom of the Earth based in Sedona, Arizona. Sheel also works with students privately to help create relationships with certain essences to fuel their yoga/meditation/breath practices.

Her students love her approach of making these ancient teachings accessible and the experience of plant and tree allies with each practice, witnessing a new capacity for joy in their daily life almost immediately.

Teaching from a place of wanting to respect the roots of yoga in Indian culture (and protect against the rampant appropriation of Sikh culture in the kundalini world), Sheel is always on the path of decolonizing the yoga she teaches. And because all yoga comes from patriarchal roots and heavily influenced by casteism, she teaches yoga from matriarchal space emboldening her students to look at yoga teachings and lineages as working for them,  helping to uncover ease and happiness in their lives, versus blindly following lineage rules and becoming a collector of yoga theories and experiences. Sheel strives to create a space that honors and welcomes BIPOC and LGQBTA+ Souls to come and practice.

Sheel (with great help from the plants and trees!) creates a practice that make us feel more centered, alive and grateful for this incarnation.
